                            The Intelligent Cycle Timer

                            The Intelligent Cycle Timer

An all new Cycle Timer for home and grow room use. The unit features a photocell that, when activated, will only enable the unit to operate in daylight or when lights are on.
This enables the unit to automatically stop dosing when there is no light.
A plastic housing, with wall mounting lugs, provides superior resistance to humid atmospheres for years of dependable service.

The Cycle Timer is our most recent development in grow room controls and has solved the age old problem of accurate short cycle timing.
Perfect for plant zone environments, reptile habitats or any other application requiring automatic short cycle switching.
No programming is required. Easy to operate. Microprocessor time counter with pre-set frequency and duration.
The Cycle Timer has many uses including fogging or misting, spray stakes or drip system timing, air pumps, C02 equipment and intake or exhaust fan control.

The Cycle Timer has a range of pre-set 'On Times' and 'Cycle Times'. The 'On Times' vary from a minimum of 30 seconds to a maximum of 1 hour, with another 10 options in between and represent the amount of time the 'output' is actually on during the overall chosen Cycle Time.

The 'Cycle Times' vary from a minimum of 1 minute to a maximum of 6 hours, with another 10 options in between and represent the overall Cycle Time. For example; if the Cycle Time is set for 1 hour and the On Time is set for 10 minutes the unit will power the chosen device for 10 minutes and will turn off the device for 50 minutes, giving an overall Cycle Time of 1 hour.
The unit also features a Manual Override switch to enable the user to switch the device on continuously and supersede the set Cycle Time. This is useful in many applications, for example when wishing to run a pump for a longer period in order to saturate a chosen media.
In override mode the unit ignores the photocell facility.

The unit features a Light Sensor/Photocell that can be set to only dose during lights on or daylight conditions. When this feature is switched on, the unit will monitor light conditions and when it identifies darkness for any period exceeding 10 seconds, the timing function and output will stop.
This feature is especially useful when using the unit to run dosing pumps or C02 devices, as it stops operating in hours of darkness without the grower having to think about it.
There is an override switch to enable the photocell action to be disabled, making the unit also useful for fan operation etc.

In case of incorrect setup by the grower, the unit features an Error Alert Light, that will flash if the On Time is equal to or greater than the Cycle Time.

The Cycle Timer features a 3m mains lead and 13 amp fused plug and operates on 230 volts AC with a 13 amp switching capacity.
The Cycle Timer must be plugged directly into a standard 13amp wall socket.

                            • Easy to set upand operate, no programing or wiring needed.
                            • Ideal for dripirrigation, flood and drain, aeroponics, misting/fogging, CO2, air pumps, fans and more.
                            • Inbuilt photocell to automatically disable unit in periods of darkness, with override switch.
                            • Manual override switch to enable continuous operation when needed, ignoring photocell and set cycle times.
                            • Error set up alert, power indicator, output on indicator and override allert.
                            • Fully operational out of the box, no wiring required.

                            HVK100A1 Hydroponics Fan

The RVK range of fans made in Germany by LTI are quiet and powerful. They are also ideal for connecting to our range of carbon filters. The LTI extractor fans come fully recommended. If you are not sure what size extractor fan to use, it's easy to work out. Simply calculate the volume of the growing environment to the nearest cubic metre. This is done by multiplying:

Length x Width x Height = Volume of your room in cubic metres (m³) and then multiply the answer by 20.

                            Hydroponic Supplies

Hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, without soil. Using our hydroponic systems terrestrial plants may be grown with their roots in the mineral nutrient solution only or in an inert medium, such as perlite, gravel, or mineral wool.

Plant physiology researchers discovered in the 19th century that plants absorb essential mineral nutrients as inorganic ions in water. In natural conditions, soil acts as a mineral nutrientreservoir but the soil itself is not essential to plant growth. When the mineral nutrients in the soil dissolve in water, plant roots are able to absorb them. When the required mineral nutrients are introduced into a plant's water supply artificially, soil is no longer required for the plant to thrive. Almost any terrestrial plant will grow with a hydroponic system. Hydroponics is also a standard technique in biology research and teaching.

                            Soilless culture

Gericke originally defined hydroponics as crop growth in mineral nutrient solutions, with no solid medium for the roots. He objected in print to people who applied the term hydroponics to other types of soilless culture such as sand culture and gravel culture. The distinction between hydroponics and soilless culture of plants has often been blurred. Soilless culture is a broader term than hydroponics; it only requires that no soils with clay or silt are used. Note that sand is a type of soil yet sand culture is considered a type of soilless culture. Hydroponics is a subset of soilless culture. Many types of soilless culture do not use the mineral nutrient solutions required for hydroponics.

Billions of container plants are produced annually, including fruit, shade and ornamental trees, shrubs, forest seedlings, vegetable seedlings, bedding plants, herbaceous perennials and vines. Most container plants are produced in soilless media, representing soilless culture. However, most are not hydroponics because the soilless medium often provides some of the mineral nutrients via slow release fertilizers, cation exchange and decomposition of the organic medium itself. Most soilless media for container plants also contain organic materials such as peat or composted bark, which provide some nitrogen to the plant. Greenhouse growth of plants in peat bags is often termed hydroponics, but technically it is not because the medium provides some of the mineral nutrients.
